Led by Bryan William Hayter, DVM, our independently owned hospital cares for dogs, cats, and many exotic pets with individualized medicine, clear communication, and genuine respect for the animals and families we serve.

Bryan William Hayter, DVM
Originally from Tustin, California, Dr. Hayter brings a distinctive background in both the arts and veterinary medicine. After earning a Master of Fine Arts degree and publishing poetry, he pursued his lifelong interest in animal health.
He earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University , developing particular interests in internal medicine, dentistry, and exotic-animal care. He completed an internship at the San Diego Zoo, where his experience included working with species such as a giant panda, cheetah, cougar, and polar bear.
Dr. Hayter also completed veterinary acupuncture training through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society . He incorporates acupuncture and other appropriate integrative treatments into conventional medical care when they are suitable for an individual patient.
Today, he provides care for dogs and cats as well as many rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, reptiles, tortoises, backyard chickens, and selected companion birds. His approach emphasizes thorough assessment, understandable explanations, and collaborative decisions with pet owners.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Hayter and his family share their home with a Cockapoo named Skywalker and Silkie chickens. He is also the owner and medical director of Desert Forest Animal Hospital in Cave Creek, Arizona.
Areas of clinical interest: small-animal internal medicine, dental health, exotic-animal medicine, surgery, veterinary acupuncture, and integrative mobility care.

Heather
Practice ManagerA California State University, Long Beach graduate, Heather has worked in the pet-care field throughout her adult life. Her organizational experience and warm approach help keep the hospital running smoothly while welcoming patients and their families.
She is also an enthusiastic exotic-pet owner, sharing her home with a leopard gecko, two bearded dragons, two lop-eared rabbits, and three cats.
Kaylee
Lead TechnicianKaylee graduated from UCLA and changed career direction to pursue veterinary medicine. She brings a thoughtful and kind approach to patient care, helping animals and their owners feel more comfortable during visits.
Her love of animals is closely connected to her Pomeranian, North, and her goal of continuing to grow professionally in veterinary medicine.
Brenden
Veterinary TechnicianBrenden began in veterinary medicine as a kennel technician and decided to develop a long-term career caring for animals. He is studying toward becoming a registered veterinary technician and hopes to continue his education in veterinary medicine.
Outside work, he enjoys life with his three cats, Gali, Sunny, and Toasty.
Isabella
Veterinary TechnicianIsabella is studying veterinary medicine through OCVAS and enjoys helping pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. She is committed to developing her skills and supporting the families who trust ABAC with their animals.
When she is not at the clinic, she enjoys the outdoors, exploring new places, and spending time with her dog, Zelda, and cat, Milo.
Audrey
Veterinary AssistantAudrey brings an upbeat attitude and a strong interest in animal medicine to the team. She has completed several internships as she works toward her goal of becoming a veterinarian.
Her enthusiasm for pets and willingness to learn help create a welcoming experience for patients and their families.
Gypsy
Office Cat · Honorary Team MemberGypsy is the clinic’s resident feline greeter and an enthusiastic recipient of attention. When she’s ready to socialize, she adds a little extra personality to the ABAC welcome.
As with any cat, allow her to choose whether she wants to interact.

We assess many urgent concerns during regular clinic hours, subject to capacity and patient needs. Call first; ABAC is not a 24-hour emergency hospital.

Our South Laguna location allows families from neighboring coastal communities to connect with the people caring for their pets.
For sudden illness or injury: Call (949) 499-4190 so we can assess appointment availability and the appropriate destination. Severe breathing difficulty, collapse, uncontrolled bleeding, or another life-threatening emergency requires immediate care at an equipped emergency hospital.

Who owns Aliso Beach Animal Clinic?
Aliso Beach Animal Clinic is independently owned by Bryan William Hayter, DVM, who also serves as the hospital’s Medical Director.
Does Dr. Hayter see exotic pets?
Yes. Dr. Hayter has professional experience in exotic-animal medicine. The clinic evaluates many rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, tortoises, backyard chickens, and selected companion birds. Please call to confirm your pet’s species and the appointment type.
Does the clinic offer veterinary acupuncture?
Yes. Dr. Hayter completed training through the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Acupuncture may be considered when it fits the patient’s medical condition and overall care plan.
Can I bring a sick pet without a routine appointment?
The clinic evaluates many urgent problems during its normal business hours when capacity permits. Please call first. Life-threatening emergencies should be evaluated immediately at an appropriately equipped emergency hospital.
